Construction shouldn’t be intimidating and building new space shouldn’t be complicated.
Our goal is to create the simplest solution for property developers and homeowners to add modern, affordable living space and workspace to their property.
Step 1 — Feasibility
At the first step of our process, we use your physical address to generate a quick feasibility report. This report is created using remote tools such as Google Earth and title reports. The report will tell us:
what size of ADU is suitable for your backyard
what type of access we will have to reach the desired location
local ADU policies that may impact the build
Step 2 — Design
At this stage, our design team will work with you to select your Solo ADU model and make design suggestions based on your preferences. Designers work with you to make recommendations on:
exterior paint and window & door color
interior paint and trim color
floor, countertop, and cabinetry color and finish
If custom projects better fit your ADU goals, our in-house drafters will design a space to meet your needs — whether it’s a larger kitchen, a closed concept, or more bedrooms & bathrooms, we will work with your list of requirements and put them to work in a fitting unit.
Step 3 — Permit Submittal
Once design is complete and a proposal is signed, one of our project managers will take your plan all the way through the plan check & local permitting.
Because we are an HCD-certified manufacturer and have pre-approved plans, all of our units are built to specification and do not need to undergo additional local plan check.
With exception to site preparation (i.e. foundation & utility connection), our structure is already approved for delivery.
Step 4 — Building
We use a combination of of on-site and offsite construction to complete your project faster than conventional construction methods.
During our first week with permit-in-hand, we can start both the site preparation and building your custom ADU. After site-work is completed and inspected for approvals, we finish your unit to 90%, deliver the modules, install and connect to your utilities. Build times depend on the unit you select, but installation can take anywhere from 1-3 months to obtain turn-key finish and final inspection approval.
Step 5 — Installation & Connection
Your building is delivered in sections — what we call modules. These sections are then arranged, fastened, and secured by forklift or crane onto the foundation we poured on your site. Everything is complete and properly fastened before we do the final utility hookup.
If special requirements are necessary for your utility hookup, we will take care of this during the site preparation phase of construction.
Step 6 — Move-In Day
When we’re done, we’ll hand you the keys and you’ll be the first one to set foot in your completed ADU.
